Συζήτηση: The situation of immigrants from Afghanistan in Iran
In the past weeks, Iranian border guard have tortured dozens of migrants on the Iranian-Afghan border and then sent them to the transboundary river, and some of whom drowned. Last week, police opened fire on a car, killing three Afghan migrants. The car caught fire and a number of them were seriously injured.
This situation were widely discussed on social media, prompting a backlash from many people. The death of George Floyd in the United States and widespread protests against racism have sparked controversy over the situation of Afghan immigrants in Iran and the organized racism against them and opened lot of discussions.
at the nearly 50 years, Iran has been one of the main destinations for Afghan immigrants, but over this decades, their lives have been marred by many problems, discrimination and lawlessness. In this event, three social activists from Afghanistan and Iran will discuss.
Parwana Amiri, Nasim Lomani and Behnam Zarei are gonna talk about this situation.
