*What is The Balkan Session Of Athens (BSOA)* ?
From an abstract idea emerging deep from the mountains of Epirus in April 2020, the Balkan Session blossomed in October 2020 within the walls of Embros, a self-organized Theater in Psiri, Athens (GR).
The BSOA is an open collaborative project in an effort to explore the depth and width of the music of the Balkans, and an attempt to connect cultural languages and music in an open space and process, taking place in the very centre of the greek capital.
In our weekly sessions, musicians, dancers, music lovers are welcome to participate in any way they want, attending to the instrumental classes, joining the orchestra, participating to the jam or to simply enjoy the music.

Balkan sessions of Athens is growing up
Here in video you will find some memories of our first year with the song we recorded to our lovely participants, for lack of being able to make the session happen for several months due to lockdown. Great job from Harvesteridios Moufidios for the recording, mixing and video in Στούντιο Εννιά !
This recording is also a part of project "Medleys From The Balkans". This 2021's project is a personnal initiative of recording and production of a disc compiling medleys from bands in Athens in which I had been taking part since I moved to Greece. Each recording interprets two songs, one from the greek repertoire, one from a neighbour region, with the idea of emphasizing the musical similarities and the diversity of colours over the "balkans".
Some recordings are still being mixed and will be released very soon !
