Queερι ΔΕΝ έχεις ταλέντο!
Αυτό δεν είναι άλλο ένα queer έχεις ταλέντο, είναι ένα queερι ΔΕΝ έχεις ταλέντο.
ΔΕΝ ΥΠΑΡΧΩ ΓΙΑ ΝΑ ΣΕ ΕΝΤΥΠΩΣΙΑΣΩ!
Το «ταλέντο» δεν είναι χάρισμα. Δεν είναι φύση. Δεν είναι ουδέτερο. Είναι ένας συστημικός μηχανισμός. Ένα φίλτρο που αποφασίζει ποια σώματα, ποιες φωνές και ποιες εκφράσεις αξίζουν χώρο και χειροκρότημα και ποιες πρέπει να πειθαρχηθούν ή να φιμωθούν. Από μικρά, τα κουίρια μαθαίνουμε τι δεν επιτρέπεται να κάνουμε: πως να μη χορεύουμε, να μη μιλάμε, να μη παίζουμε. Το «ταλέντο» ορίζεται μέσα από cis, straight, λευκές δυτικές πειθαρχημένες νόρμες. Και ό,τι ξεφεύγει από αυτό βαφτίζεται «υπερβολικό», «γελοίο», «προκλητικό». Γι' αυτό δεν χωράμε και ΔΕΝ θέλουμε να χωρέσουμε.
Έπειτα, μας ζητούν να είμαστε δημιουργικά «επειδή είμαστε queer». Αυτό δεν είναι αποδοχή. Είναι μεταμόρφωση της ίδιας βίας. Από την απαγόρευση περνάμε στην απαίτηση. Από το «κρύψου» στο «δώσε κάτι να καταναλώσουμε». Ναι, μπορεί να βγάλεις λεφτά και να γίνεις εμπορεύσιμο. Αλλά η κουιροφοβία δεν εξαφανίζεται, απλώς κεφαλαιοποιείται το "queerness" από τα αφεντικά. Το queer γίνεται aesthetic και trend, ένα queer-coded προϊόν για straight κατανάλωση, ενώ τα ίδια τα κουίρια συνεχίζουν να αποκλείονται. Το appropriation βαφτίζεται «έμπνευση», οι χώροι μας gentrif-άρονται, μέχρι να μην μας ανήκουν πια.
Σήμερα, η καταπίεση φοράει άλλο πρόσωπο: να είμαστε δημιουργικά, ιδιαίτερα, εμπνευσμένα. Να μετατρέψουμε την ταυτότητά μας σε απόδοση, την εμπειρία μας σε περιεχόμενο, την επιβίωση μας σε θέαμα. Το «ταλέντο» γίνεται εργαλείο αξιολόγησης: αν δεν παράγεις, δεν αξίζεις. Αν δεν ξεχωρίζεις, δεν υπάρχεις. Οι κριτές του «ταλέντου» δεν είναι απλώς γνώμες, είναι συνένοχοι της επιβράβευσης της ευπρέπειας και του μέτρου που κάνει το queer αποδεκτό μόνο όταν δεν ενοχλεί το straight βλέμμα.
Το «Queer ΔΕΝ έχεις ταλέντο» είναι άρνηση. Άρνηση να μετρηθούμε με όρους που δεν φτιάξαμε. Είναι επαναδιεκδίκηση του να υπάρχουμε χωρίς να είμαστε εμπορεύσιμα ή αξιολογήσιμα. Είναι κριτική στη βιομηχανία της τέχνης και του ταλέντου και αυτοκριτική στην ίδια την queer κοινότητα, όταν ξεχνά το συλλογικό και καπιταλεύεται μεμονωμένα «ταλέντα», αφήνοντας πίσω σώματα που δεν πουλάνε, δεν χωράνε, δεν γίνονται content.
Γι' αυτό, επιλέγουμε ρήξη και κοινότητα αντί για συμμόρφωση, γιατί queer δεν είναι επίδοση, είναι αγώνας, σύγκρουση και χώρος να υπάρχουμε ακατάτακτα, ακατάλληλα, ελεύθερα και ανώμαλα.
Φέρτε λοιπόν το μη ταλέντο σας και ελάτε να εξαλλιαστούμε αυτοοργανωμένα, χωρίς αφεντικά, χωρίς κριτήρια και χωρίς κυνηγούς ταλέντων.
Queer you don't have talent!
This is not another queer you have talent, this is a queer you DON'T have talent! I don't exist to impress you!
Talent is not a gift. Talent is not natural. Talent is not neutral. Talent is a systemic mechanism. Talent decides which bodies, which voices and which self expressions deserve to take space and be applauded. Talent decides which bodies must be controlled or silenced. From a very young age, we learn as queers what we are not allowed to do: how not to dance, how not to speak, how not to play. "Talent" is defined by cis, straight, white western disciplined norms. And anything different is named "extreme", "ridiculous", "provocative". This is why we dont match the criteria and we don't want to.
Afterwards, we are ordered to be talented and creative "because we are queer". This is not acceptance. This is the conversion of the same violence. The prohibition transforms to demand. The command to " be hiden!" transforms to "give us something to consume". Yes, you can make money and be commercial. But queerphobia doesn't vanish, instead "queerness" is being capitalized. Queer becomes aesthetic and trend, a queer- coded product for straight consumption. Meanwhile, the same queers are being excluded. Appropriation is baptized "inspiration", our spaces are being gentrified untill they are not ours anymore.
Today, our oppression reveals its face in such a way: that we must be creative, peculiar, inspiring. We must transform our identity into performance, our experience into content, our survival into a show. Talent is an evaluation tool: if you dont produce, you are not worthy. If you don't stand out from the crowd, you don't exist. The judges of "talent" are not just opinion makers. They are complicit to rewarding of decency and propriety that make queerness acceptable when it doesn't irritate the straight gaze.
"Queer you don't have talent" is a denial. A denial to measure ourselves with criteria we didn't create. It's a reclaim to exist without being comercial or evaluated. It's a critique of talent and art industry. Its a self critique to the queer community, when collective is forgotten and demonstrates specific "talented" individuals, leaving behind bodies that are not selling, they don't fit in, they don't create content.
This is why we choose community and interuption instead of obedience. Because queer is not to be productive, is to fight, to collide and to take space in order for our community to be uncategorized, inappropriate, free and abnormal.
So bring your lack of talent and come together to go feral with us, self-organized, with no bosses, no criteria, and no talent scouts.
