Την Πέμπτη 13/8 στις 21:00 στο Κιόσκι των Προσφυγικών (Λ. Αλεξάνδρας & Κούζη) θα προβληθεί το ντοκιμαντέρ "Newen Mapuche: Η Δύναμη του Λαού της Γης", σε σκηνοθεσία της Elena Varela, 2011, διάρκειας 2ω 05λ, με αγγλικούς υπότιτλους.
Το Newen Mapuche: Η Δύναμη του Λαού της Γης" είναι ένα ντοκιμαντέρ σε σκηνοθεσία της Elena Varela -το οποίο κυκλοφόρησε το 2011, με την παραγωγή να ξεκινά το 2006- και καταγράφει τον αγώνα των ιθαγενών κοινοτήτων Mapuche στη νότια Χιλή για την ανάκτηση των προγονικών τους εδαφών απέναντι στην κρατική καταστολή. Η επίσημη σύνοψη εστιάζει στην έρευνα της σκηνοθέτιδας μετά τη δολοφονία του νεαρού Mapuche Alex Lemún, καθώς προσπαθεί να κατανοήσει τη σύγκρουση με το χιλιανό κράτος μέσα από συνεντεύξεις με ηγέτες που δρούσαν στο περιθώριο της νομιμότητας και με φυλακισμένους. Κατά τη διάρκεια των γυρισμάτων, η Varela τέθηκε υπό παρακολούθηση από πράκτορες των μυστικών υπηρεσιών και συνελήφθη το 2008 με κατασκευασμένες κατηγορίες περί παράνομης σύστασης οργάνωσης, γεγονός που οδήγησε στην κατάσχεση όλου του οπτικοακουστικού υλικού που είχε συγκεντρώσει στη διάρκεια μιας δεκαετίας.

On Thursday, August 13/8, at 9:00 p.m. at the Kioski of Prosfygika (Alexandras Ave. & Kouzi St.), the documentary "Newen Mapuche: The Strength of the People of the Land" will be screened, directed by Elena Varela, 2011, with duration of 2 hour and 05 minutes, with English subtitles.
Newen Mapuche: The Strength of the People of the Land is a documentary directed by Elena Varela-released in 2011, with production beginning in 2006-that chronicles the struggle of Mapuche indigenous communities in southern Chile to reclaim their ancestral lands in the face of state repression. The official synopsis focuses on the director's investigation following the killing of young Mapuche man Alex Lemún, as she seeks to understand the conflict with the Chilean state through interviews with underground leaders and prisoners. During filming, Varela was pursued by intelligence agents and arrested in 2008 on trumped-up charges of illicit association, resulting in the seizure of all the audiovisual material she had gathered over the course of a decade.
